Happenings

I finally got a whole two days off work.  New girl is all trained up and on her own so I got a weekend.  First one since April.  I'd like to give thanks to the god of all things good and pure because it was awesome.  I did nothing and it was awesome.

Sunday Mom and I took a ride to Fat Dad's and got a rainbow Diet Coke.  It is so good.  If you're ever in my neck of the woods you absolutely have to go to Fat Dad's.  Totally worth it.

Not much to look at, but their drinks are amazing!

If you ever wanted to know what Illinois looks like---this is it:\

Wind blown hair and Fat Dad's deliciousness

Baby Frank, God bless him, made me two super useful travel combs from the one useless full sized comb I had.  I loved that comb.  It's wood and hands down the best comb I've ever had.  Now it's broken and I'm sad.

Someone at work got a new truck.  I looked up on the monitor and it appeared that there were about half a dozen officers rubbing their wieners on it.  Men are ridiculous.

Fight

This is just a quick video of a Fat/Frank fight.  It was dark, so there is only audio, but this is what it sounds like when Frank torments the hell out of poor Fatty.  The one that you hear growling and hissing is Fatty.  Frank isn't phased by it in the least.

Monday

I went for a walk with Barbie this morning.  It's super hot out and the humidity is through the roof.  But, being the dedicated little exerciser that I am, we went ahead and went for a walk.  We made it halfway through one lap and she got diarrhea and I turned my ankle and fell in a ditch.  We called it at the end of lap one.  Sooooo, today wasn't off to the best start.  At least the attempt was there.  We should get full credit for the attempt and burn the same amount of calories as a full walk.  Just sayin'.

This pretty much sums up how I felt about work today:

Frank has a new favorite activity.  He goes in the bathroom and tears off teeny pieces of toilet paper and spits them out.  It's huh-larious, thinks Frank.  I disagree.

I ordered these new headbands the other day.  I got them today and they are awesome.  I'm a sweater and I hate getting sweat in my eyes.  I may look ridiculous but at least I'll have sweat free eyes.

My big boy is doing so well.  The last week or two he's been like the Fat of old.  He's been talkative and active.  It makes me happy to see him doing so well.  He's still a lot thinner than he used to be, but he has been acting just like he did pre-diabetes (and pre-Frank).

Breakfast

This is what I woke up to this morning.  They were just staring at me, waiting on their breakfast.

Laundry

Nothing quite like relaxing on a filthy pile of dirty laundry.

Smoke

Frankie is not bright.  I've come to terms with it.  Made my peace with it.  He is a firebug.  He LOVES candles, which is problematic.  I love candles, but all of his whiskers have curly q's on the end because he's singed them off.  As soon as I've used the ones I have, I'm afraid I'm done with candles.  He's going to burn my house down.

Anyhoodle, the other day I had lit a candle and set it on the kitchen counter.  I walked into the front room, realized I had forgotten something in the kitchen and walked back.  That took, maybe, fifteen seconds as my house is the size of a standard minivan.  Well, I round the corner and saw Frankie standing in the sink.  He had his front paws in the sink, back paws on the edge of the sink.  He was eating a brown, floppity piece of lettuce, which is another of his quirks.  I stopped dead in my tracks, unable to really make sense of what I was seeing.  There was smoke rolling off of his butt.

"Is he smoking?"  That's all I could think.  I finally came to my senses and took off running.  As soon as I got within five feet or so I could smell burned hair.  Bad.  I grabbed him and ran my hand down his back and found a super hot spot at the base of his tail.  He had somehow set his butt on fire.  There were no flames and I'm assuming even Frankie would realize if he were actually on fire.  But he almost torched himself, enough to have smoke rolling off of him.

I don't really know how he even did it.  It wasn't the tip of his tail, or his ear.  The small of his back, really.  I have no idea what he did, but I think we're done with candles.

Frankfurter

Frank had to spend two days at the vet clinic because of the hair tie.  He'd stopped eating and pooping and I could tell his belly hurt.  They did a barium swallow (the vet said he LOVED the barium.  Drank it like it was the best stuff he'd ever had) and thought the hair tie was caught between his stomach and small intestine. They'd scheduled him for surgery, but then decided to try some laxatives instead.  He didn't feel well, but he wasn't super sick, so they thought surgery might be jumping the gun a little bit.  So we went the laxative route and he has started pooping and eating.  Yesterday he acted like he felt like a new man.  He was wound for sound, much to Fatty's dismay.  As long as food goes in and poop comes out, we're done.  The hair tie can stay in there as long as it's not causing any problems, but they're not even certain that it's still in there.  He may have already passed it and just had some swelling and inflammation.  He was so gassy.  He was on my lap and I could hear his belly gurgling.  The vet said every time she pushed on his belly he farted.  Poor feller.
Look who's home!

Look who's $220 poorer!

Hair Tie

Guess who ate a hair tie the other day?  He didn't eat breakfast this morning....

I wanted to watch TV, but I watched the back of Frankie's head instead.

Blues

Me and Frankfurter, watching the Blues game. He's a huge fan.
